Instructor Courses (14+)

Our instructor courses help you turn your passion into leadership. You can start with the Assistant Instructor course or move through to Senior Instructor level in sailing, windsurfing, wing, paddle, or powerboating. Each course follows the official RYA framework and is delivered by experienced tutors in a practical, supportive setting. View all Instructor Courses.

RYA First Aid Course

This one-day course gives you the essential skills to respond to emergencies, whether onshore or afloat. You’ll cover primary care, hypothermia, head injuries and more. Instructors and participants in RYA qualifications need this certificate to meet course and safeguarding standards. View the RYA First Aid Course.

VHF Radio Training

To operate a marine radio legally, you need the RYA Short Range Certificate. This classroom-based course teaches correct radio usage, DSC procedures, and emergency calls. By the end of the session, you’ll be ready to sit the exam with confidence. View the VHF Radio Course.

Private Sailing Tuition

Private tuition gives you the chance to focus entirely on your goals. You can choose one-to-one instruction in sailing, windsurfing, wing, or powerboating. These sessions suit beginners wanting to build confidence, or returning participants looking for a refresher. Book Private Sailing Tuition.
