Young Leader’s Programme (Ages 14–16)

Develop Confidence and Coaching Experience on the Water

The Young Leaders Programme is a unique development pathway for teens aged 14–18 who are passionate about watersports and ready to support others on their learning journey. Rather than a formal course, this programme offers an apprenticeship-style experience that introduces young people to the responsibilities of coaching and session support.

Participants assist our senior instructors during Junior Holiday Courses, helping with group management, safety procedures, and activity setup. They gain confidence, improve their communication and leadership skills, and begin to understand what it means to be part of a professional watersports team.

Over five days, young leaders take part in on-the-water sessions, briefings, and teamwork exercises. It’s the perfect first step for those considering assistant instructor training or looking to stay involved at OSTT in a meaningful and rewarding way.
