Team Building on the Water for New Year 7s

Oxford Sail Training was delighted to welcome Bishop Ramsey Church of England School from Ruislip for an action-packed activity day designed to help their new Year 7 cohort bond and build team spirit at the start of their secondary school journey.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Farmoor Reservoir, the students took part in a full day of outdoor activities including paddle sports, dinghy sailing, and raft building. Each element of the day was designed not only to introduce them to new skills, but also to encourage collaboration, communication, and problem-solving in a fun and engaging environment.
Whether working together to balance on paddleboards, crew a sailing boat, or build and race their own rafts, the students faced exciting challenges that brought them closer as a group. Our experienced instructors created a supportive and inclusive atmosphere, helping students grow in confidence while building strong peer relationships.
The day was a great success, with staff and students alike praising the experience. By taking learning beyond the classroom, Bishop Ramsey School used the power of outdoor education to kick-start a sense of community, resilience, and teamwork that will carry through the school year.
