Whether you’re new to watersports or a returning visitor, our FAQs cover everything you need to know before your session. From what to wear to site facilities and safety, we’ve answered the most common questions to help you feel prepared, confident, and ready for a great day out.
Wear clothes suitable for the weather, including old trainers or wetsuit shoes if going on the water. Bring a towel, full change of clothes, and a packed lunch if you’re staying all day. We provide buoyancy aids and waterproofs where needed.
No, but you must be confident in the water while wearing a buoyancy aid. We require everyone to keep their buoyancy aid on near or on the water at all times. Instructors will ensure safety is a top priority throughout all activities.
Courses are available for children aged 8 and above, and there’s no strict upper age limit. We offer youth and adult courses, and instructor training too. Each course will specify the minimum age required. All participants must be physically able to take part.
Yes, we have picnic benches and a viewing area where parents and guardians are welcome. However, for safeguarding reasons, you’ll need to remain in designated areas and not enter classrooms or changing rooms. Please check with staff for site-specific rules during your visit.
We always aim to deliver your booked session. In high winds or storms, we’ll switch to suitable alternative activities. Instructors are trained to adapt and ensure sessions remain safe and enjoyable, even if we can’t get on the water. Please bring waterproofs just in case.
We aim to be inclusive. Let us know in advance about any medical condition or disability so we can make reasonable adjustments. Some activities may have restrictions for safety reasons, but we’ll do our best to offer a suitable and supportive experience.
We recommend leaving valuables at home. There are limited lockers and changing facilities on site, but we can’t accept responsibility for lost items. Phones and electronics should be kept in waterproof bags or left with a parent or guardian when possible.
Yes, we have changing rooms and showers available for use before and after water sessions. These facilities are shared, so we advise arriving in your activity gear if possible and bringing a towel, change of clothes, and plastic bag for wet kit.
